I have a forum where I want people to post fan fiction. I also need them to be able to post other things in there. I hace them post thier fan fics as a post, and if they have more than 1 chapter, then they reply to the first post. But I don't want anyone else to be able to post a reply to a fan fic thread. I do want people to be able to reply to other threads no matter who starts. I need a hack that will let the aurthor check a box that it is a fan fic, and thus make it so only they can reply to the topic. Could someone please write a hack to do this?
Thanks. |

If all Fan-Fics are posted in the same forum, you can do this with simple Forum Permissions (use the "Can reply to others' threads" setting).

Yes, but there are also other types of threads in that forum that I want everyone to be able to reply to. So I still need a hack, don't I?

Can't you create a subforum just for fanfiction and use the admin cp forum permissions like firefly said above...

Can someone help me with this hack? I want a little box in the options area below a post so people will be able to check it if it is a fan fic, and therefore, be the only ones that are able to reply.
Please help. |
