We have done numerous tests on this issue with many of our servers and we found that this is an intermittent issue that we cannot prevent. The email being sent from our servers is being sent correctly and Yahoo is deferring them at random, with no warning or notification.
We have no control over yahoos incoming smtp server's capabilities or policies.
Yahoo is deciding to defer messages coming from not only our shared servers, but any shared server hosting multiple domains.
We urge you to contact yahoo on this issue as they may provide you with additional support and information on the issue, although this is unlikely.

Jason,
I just wanted to say THANXX for finally solving this mystery. We have a lot of Yahoo users who never make it out of
Confirming Status and I've always wondered exactly as to why.
After tripping across your post while looking for a MOD related to Yahoo User Registrations, at least I now have a clue as to what's been going on.
I also revised our registration template in a similar manner to forewarn such users that they need to use a Non-AOL/YAHOO email address, or they will probably never receive an Activation Email required to complete the process.
GREAT IDEA!
