Default Limit thread too 2 people only?

I am hoping to get created a mod for my forum. Or even help to make it myself.
What i am hoping for is as below.

1) A particular forum that can not be accessed but can be viewed by all. (No biggy ofcourse.)
2) A request form for people to challenge other people and accept challenge.
3) Then once accepted by staff they have access to 1 specific thread in that forum.
4) There would be a time limit and perhaps even post limit options for this.
5) Perhaps a public or member based poll hooked in to decide winner.
5) To hook into an awards mod like xperience to ultimately award the winner.
6) Once finished they are back to not allowed to post and thead locked.

Sorry for the way i layed it out. Hell i dont even expect anyone to help but hope.
The reason i put it this way is because i have a bad habbit of not being clear and it often upsets people.

The reason i want all this is actually simple.
A part of my forum is a flaming area.
I want to control a particular area so that only 2 can enter and post after a call out has occurred then ultimately an award is awarded once the winner has been established.
I have done this manually for years now and i am getting sore fingers

Now i know there is already a mod out that can limit time and posts on a thead.

Thats it there. So i guess thats half my battle right there.
Still its more of a wish than an expectation. Still i thought i would put it out there.

Hope to get some replies and not just get lost in archives!

Cheers DAMINK

I guess there is no takers on this idea then?
Could someone answer then perhaps.....
Is there any decent active forums that do cater to people wanting to get mods created?

The quick answer to your question is "no" - I've never come across a site where people are willing to make a mod this specific for free... I seriously doubt they exist... for most coder's they don't lack ideas but the time or skills to make a mod... This 'free requests' section is a nice service but I fear people see it and expect they will find someone willing to do their mods for free... in the real world it's really rare for things to work like that- the only times it happens is when a coder sees a request and figures they themselves could make good use of the mod and feels like sharing it for fee after the fact. In my substantial time here I only saw 1 mod ever requested here actually get made that was more than a simple file edit or bb code, and it was probably still a simple mod itself. The more specific your request the less likely it will be useful to anyone else.

But hey if you ever find such a site please let me know- nothing would make me happier then to be proven wrong.

And I'm not here drumming up business for the "paid requests" forum- I don't take paid requests myself- it's just from experience I could ask for a "simple" mod here for a year and never get a response or go to the paid requests forum and wave around a few bucks and get multiple people competing to make it. Just an FYI.

Here is the problem.
I am new to VB. I dont know who is a good coder and who isnt. Who is a scammer and who isnt.
When i used the "other" bb software i had several coders to help me. Paid ofcourse!
Now i find myself some what lost.
I can pay. Thats not a problem at all.
But i dont want to pay someone who has no talent and ultimately does not achieve what i want.
I did think a post here might get a few replies. Perhaps even a couple people offering there services but in a paid environment. Yet nothing until your reply today.

You see if i just went into the paid area i will get prob 20 nuff nuffs wanting to do my work i suspect. But how do i know who can produce the result?
I dont. I cant pay said 20 nuff nuffs.
So i am caught between a rock and a hard place.
Dont sweat it though mate. I am getting more and more used to the VB community now.
I had high expectations early. Now i dont really have any.

It's against the rules for a paid coder to contact you in this forum because it's the unpaid requests...

As for knowing who to hire, that's a legit concern... What I did was ask for references to see how past customers were happy and what mods they had previously made- any good coder will have many happy customers willing to write a short recommendation or a copy of some "thank yous" they've received... You can see how long they've been a member here, look at their past posts... if they've been here for years you're probably safe... if they registered a month ago I would stay away.

I just wanted to post something because I know how annoying it can be to post and bump and bump and bump again and it's like no one is even reading your posts- trust me many are reading but just unable to help you.
