Good Forum Hosting Options
Hello all, I am seeking the best forum hosting options out there. Currently I am using www.greengeeks.com for my homepage (wordpress) and forum (vbulletin)
I have used 114KB of bandwidth so far this month.....my forum has over 1100 members and 120,000 posts. I average 100 daily members. Any ideas on where to host? My current host, the server I am on keeps having the MySQL crash for all of the sites on the server. This happens about once every 2 days and my site is down for 10 minutes each time. I have considered HostGator.....any thoughts/etc will help. |

It says on the description of the forum this forum is for discussion not relating to vBulletin or Modification, wouldn't that entail hosting is fair game?

As a general rule discussions about web hosts take place on vBulletin.com - they have rules in place that prevent people from spamming and only posting links to sites which they make money off of if you join, so is it really fair if someone recommends you a host here but doesn't tell you they'll make $50 if you use it? Referring people to web hosts can be very lucrative and hard to get fair and honest reviews.
That said I use and highly recommend URLJet.com they make it their business to specialize in vBulletin hosting so their servers are optimized for it- I've never had a problem in 2 years of hosting with them any they could handle your traffic on their most basic shared hosting plan. Also, FYI, you used a lot mote than 114 KB, KB is KiloBytes and a single image could be 114 KB... you may have used 114 MB (MegaBytes) but even that seems small for a site of your size. |

Hostgator is probably the worst host to go with...
