Just a simple question - how to remove "statistics" from Forum Home

Apologies for what might be a trivial question; I am a non-programmer, although happy to Notepad++ edit under directions.

How do I remove the "Statistics" from Forum Home, especially this: "Welcome to our newest member...". I want a cleaner look and feel and don't need this (mostly) irrelevant information for users. I, as admin, might be interested in the Stats, but I don't want the clutter for others.

To remove "Welcome to our newest member..." find the following code at the FORUMHOME template and either comment it out or remove it.

<p>{vb:rawphrase welcome_to_our_newest_member_x, {vb:link member, {vb:raw newuserinfo}}, {vb:raw newuserinfo.username}}</p>

Whereas to remove the whole stats block, at the same template, find the following code at the FORUMHOME template and either comment it out or remove it.

Could you also point me to the code extraction/comment-out needed to remove the "Icon legend" and "Posting Permissions" blocks in Forum view.

To remove the Icon Legend, same template again, find the following code at the FORUMHOME template and either comment it out or remove it.

However, oh dear, I can't find the FORUMHOME template. Where is it? I can't find anything on my server /forum/ subdirectories except this file vbulletin-style.xml in /forum/install which is a 2+MB file. Surely, vB doesn't parse this installer file constantly?

I think I must have got lost somewhere.

The easiest way would be to go to your Acp->Styles & Templates->Style Manager->Choose your style and from the drop down list choose: Edit Templates->FORUMHOME. Then do the edits there and save the changes.

Although it does make me think where and how the templates are stored on my webserver. Never mind though, your instructions were great, and I've got it working! (And the info/clutter removed). Thanks again.
