Thanks for the reply but it doesn't work, blog.message seems empty:

<meta name="description" content="{vb:raw vboptions.description} {vb:raw blog.message}" />

gives the same result as:

<meta name="description" content="{vb:raw vboptions.description}" />

I'm running vBulletin 4.0.4
