I have a version of vb 3.8.1 that is LIVE.
I have upgraded to a new version (3.8.5) & added add-ons on another machine & domain. Now I have a db on the new version that is using the older db that is a week old. I tried dropping all user tables & posts & replacing them with the LIVE version. Now I am having problems with all the add-ons. Is there a quick way to update users & posts from one db to another, without disabling the add-ons in the newer version? |

I cannot even tell what you have done since you are talking about vB versions that don't even exist. The way to do an upgrade is to upload all the files for the new version and run the upgrade script. You cannot just import the user and post table from one database and put them into another database. You will cause all sorts of problems doing that (there are so many other tables you would need to grab).

I corrected the version numbers (3.8.1 to 3.8.5).
I did run the upgrade on the new version (which has the outdated db - by only 2 days!). But I still need the the old versions 5 posts with 2 replys & 100's of views from the last week. |
