usergroup promotions question?
I created a Promotion for the purpose of automatically demoting a member of the Registered Users usergroup to another Custom Users usergroup that I created.
Example: What I want this Promotion to do is move a member out of the "Registered Users" to "Custom Users" if they have not made a minimum of 50 posts within one year after their join date. This is how I currently have it set up, but not I'm sure if this is the proper configuration to achieve my desired goal. I have reputations turned off and the set the default at 10. I want this Promotion to actually act as a demotion. Could someone confirm that I have the settings correct to work as I would like it to. Reputation Comparison Type: Greater or Equal to Reputation Level: 10 Days Registered: 365 Posts: 50 Promotion Strategy: (Post or Reputation) and Date Promotion Type: Primary Usergroup Move User to Usergroup: Custom Users - Thanks |

You cannot do a demotion like you want using default vbulletin. You may only demote based on repution, not post count or days registered.

I appreciate your reply.
I'm basically wanting to move relatively inactive users to a special user group that I set up that opts them out of the mass PM's I sent out periodically. My custom usergroup is Registered Users Mass PM Opt Out. So, I'm wanting the Promotion system to move (demote) a Register User to Registered User Mass PM Opt Out after a year of 50 posts or less. How would I set this up using the Reputation method? And since I have had Reputation disabled all of this time. I have now enabled it in AdminCP. What is the query that needs to be run to bring every member's reputation back up to what it should be based on their current stats? Because Rebuilding User Reputation in Update Counters doesn't work. Thanks |

I don't know that you can do this via Reputation. Users give reputation to each other, so you could have someone who has lots of rep but then stops visiting the site.
You may want to look for a modification to do what you want. |

Well, I appreciate your reply. It looks like this is a dead end, despite the number of requests on this website for just such a mod. Kind of hard to understand why so many people have requested this exact type of mod, but the requests fall on deaf ears. This would really be a beneficial mod for a lot of us. Oh well....thanks again.
P.s. - I tried this and it did not work. Followed the instructions. Created the scheduled task for the cron job. Ran it manually, it showed no errors and said done. Then went back and checked a few accounts that should have been moved from one user group to the lazy usergroup. No luck. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=115994 |
