There are two versions of vb4, there's the forums classic version and the publishing suite. The publishing suite has this type of functionality built into it.

If you don't have the publishing suite you can use this modification:

Just go through every single usergroup except your subscriber group and make sure their permissions for "Can View Albums" is set to "no".
