Reinstalling VB4
Right, took the plunge last week and upgraded to VB4 seemed to go ahead just fine but my public HTML folder just looks a mess and I'm having some niggles with functionality such as the asset manager not working.
I'd like to wipe everyrthing clean and do a fresh install on a clean public folder and start again. Couple of questions,
Thanks in advance people. If you'd like to check out the site as it is www.the-sps.org. Xx |

If you do a clena install, you lose everything.
If you do a clean install on another database, then swithc to your current database, you wasted time and did nothing. What problems are you having? Did you check with support? |

Main issues are with the asset manager not working, logged it as a bug but they're not really responding so far. Issue here is that although I can view the asset manager and select things to upload I don't get the upload button. Users have to use the classic one in order to get stuff uploaded. Log in problems, when people land on the forum homepage which is the actual forum and not the homesection it appears that they're logged out however when they then click on the forum button they're already logged in. |

Why is it a waste of time? Because it didn't do anything. The database is where 99% of the applications data is stored. All of your configuirations, addons, templates, styles, etc are all in YOUR database. Doing a fresh install installs the default data into its own database. Not your current one.
Did you start a ticket or a forum post? The bug tracker is supposed to be used for reporting reproudeable bugs, the asset manager not working for you is not nessarily a bug. |

Yeah I did get it fixed in the end. The problem was that one of my attachment types was .3gp which is a video extension (I think) apparently the asset manager doesn't like file extensions with numbers in it. As soon as I removed that extention type I got the upload button.
