www cookie issues
It seems there is a bug in VB4 where if you go to www.example.com it keeps your cookie (IE logged in) but if you go to example.com without the www you can not log in. It says it does but doesnt keep the cookie.
I have tested this on several sites. You will not experience this on vb.org because they force the www. Is there a fix for this other than forcing the www in my htacess. --------------- Added [DATE]1268443310[/DATE] at [TIME]1268443310[/TIME] --------------- Sorry this is a VB 4 question. Mods can you please move it |

Cookies by default set at www.example.com are considered different from just example.com
Sites written to accept both are somewhat out-of-the-norm in general coding practices and terms. vBulletin is only following normal security precautions in its behaviour as you describe, however if the documentation says it should then do as Marco says and start a new bug for it. |
