New Members not receiving validation email from forums?
Hello folks, having difficulty with my vB 4.0.1 forum NOT sending out the validation email to newly registered members...
For the life of me, I cannot get the settings correct to have the site send out the email to validate their new membership. Registration goes through, but I'll have to manually authorize new users through admin cp. Not really much of a hassle now because there's no traffic but when it matures, this is going to be a headache. If anyone could shed some light on this for me it would certainly be appreciated... Thanks in advance |

Do you get the test message okay in AdminCP>Maintenance>Diagnostics>Email ?
And if you try to rgister a new user yourself, do you get the email? If so, then it's just dumb users that can't find the emails in their spam box. |

For the benefit of future searchers, you really should post the solution. Exactly what was the problem, how did you figure it out, and how did you solve it?

My apologies, the issue was resolved by paying $100 for someone familiar with the issue to fix it.

Check your mail server to ensure it is configured correctly to allow PHP to send mail from it. You should also check your mail server's error log for more diagnostic information. |
