How to block pop-ups?

not quite. I just want to disable "_new" "_blank" windows from my site sort of like an Internal Pop-up blocker.

Set the server to stop pop-ups before they get to the user. I think this is impossible haha.

Another solution that could work is telling members to enable pop-up blockers at the highest level possible, that way, their browsers will block ALL pop-ups. I Know this will work but the only problem is that if their pop-up blockers are enabled, then the "smilies" will not appear when clicking on the "show more" because they show on a new window and this window will be blocked. Now, if they disable their pop-up blockers temporarily, just to select "smilies", then when clicking "play" on a video, pop-ups will appear again, at the end they will just be wasting time enabling and disabling their pop-up blockers.

Only if I could make the smilies appear on the same page using ajax but i don't know how I could accomplish that.
