I was using a phoogle modification here for previous versions of vbulletin... Now I'd like to maybe have google maps integrated with my site.
Can someone give me some heads up as to how to integrate google map with vbulletin? Where do I start, etc... |

Could you elaborate a little more on what your final goal is?

Take a look at this link:
http://www.westfly.com/cgi-bin/fly-f...ry?state=IDAHO That is one of many for that site. Notice the table about midway down the page "Selected Waters". You can actually click on the Week/month/year and they will bring up nice little graphs. Just about that you will see "Current Reports" with a drop down box. When you click that box, it shows the "Current River Levels", "Weather" via NOAA (when available), and "What to Expect in January" which is a hatch chart. I love the format on this site. It's perfect. I'd like to use this information on an interactive google map for my site. By use of the keyword tags on my site,... When a keyword comes up for a river (Delaware river, beaverkill, etc...) I'd like for the option of a google map for that river with all of the information contained on this page: http://www.westfly.com/cgi-bin/fly-f...uth-fork-boise Have a lost you yet? Here is a link to a page on my site... This will take 10 seconds to load so be patient. You will see that I have some of the USGS information for some NY rivers. http://www.njflyfishing.com/USGS/nyff.php |

Ok mate, you are getting way ahead of yourself. This is a massive project that is not really that simple.
From my understanding this will require a lot of in-depth coding and heavy modifications. What you can do is call the keywords and have them echoed into a link which is in reality a "Google Query" for their Google Maps. However I am not sure how you would go about pulling the "westfly" charts and data. That may be address by calling a PHP function which can pull specific data out of an HTML coded page. This is a question you may want to present to some professional PHP developers and look more in-depth into. Hope I was able to provide some useful information. |

We are looking for something in the same lines, but much more simple. It could be as simple as doing a google map seach based on the tags in a thread and displaying the google map shown for those tags inline on the thread along with temperature and ice thickness entered by the user.
