I would like soft-deleted threads to be automatically moved to a "deleted thread" forum I have set up in our Staff section. I've looked as best I can, and the only answers I find vbRecycle and vbTrash, which aren't exactly what I want. Are there any other solutions? Thanks. (running v3.8.4)

Just out of curiosity, why can't your staff just move the threads rather than delete them? They have to access the same controls in the same area to do both.

Good idea, now that you mention it, there really isn't a reason to delete them if they're moved there. Boy do I feel dumb now. (in my defense, this is my first time starting and running a forum

It happens. And it will happen again. vB has a lot of controls that take a while to remember. I was actually doing the same thing for a while there. Still not sure why.

what is the point of moving a soft deleted thread from the forum it was posted in?
If the usergroup settings are set correctly, only staff can see the soft deleted threads, so what is the point of moving them? |

That's why I suggested just moving it. The point of moving it, rather than deleting it, is to keep track of what kind of spam you get to keep a record of it.

If a thread is soft deleted by a mod or another admin, there is no notification. If it is moved to a "deleted threads" section, they are easily visible. I've found a few threads that should never have been deleted, and I thought this would make it easier.
