I am trying to make a copy of my forum on another domain for development purposes. I have duplicated the database and copied all of the files over, but the copy is still trying to access the original domain. It is still trying to pull the images from the old domain and several things from the database.
I cannot figure out where the copy is referencing the old forum. I uploaded tools.php and reset the cookie domain and went through all the cache clearing options. I also changed the url to the development server url in Site Name / URL / Contact Details. I'm not sure what else to do. Can someone please help? |

Have you changed the settings in the config.php file to match those of the test site?

Hi Ombra,
Hope we both have our answers cause I'm having a very similar problem when migrating (take a look at my post Smooth migration ). Keep in touch if you have any answers. |

Are you talking about the images within vbulletin like smilies, or gradients etc? Or are you having problems with images such as custom headers etc? The reason I ask is sometimes the paths to status icons, etc get hardcoded with www.domain.com/images/blah instead of ../images/blah and so it doesnt matter what your config is set to its going to follow the hard coded paths. |
