"Soft-delete" Users
How can I just put users that want to be deleted in another user group and then have the same results as when I completely delete the user?
I want the possibility to undo the deletion if the user comes back. But the user shall not enter his ucer cp or receive mails .., Thanks! |

That solution is hardly perfect as it requires several template edits, all of which will have to be redone with each update. Really messy.

correct. isn't THAT perfect. And the above is the only point which keeps me from going on ...

just modify the username and modify the email. change the password to a string of letters and numbers. if they want back, just change the username and email back. Issue them a temp password. I have done this a few times.

But what about the existing posts? They shall be seen under the correct (old) user name and in a manner that looks like a deleted user...

yes, the posts will remain and will have the new username, only other way is the template edit procedure as stated above.
