Hi friends, here we go again with more questions. :-) I hope you can help me.
The thing is that our moderators can not edit user profiles. No only that, they can not edit THEIR OWN PROFILE using the admin CP, even having this particular permission enabled in the Super Moderators group permissions page. Obviously, we can give them the ADMIN status, and they will be able to modify user profiles with no problem at all (as our admins do) but this is not the right way to do it. Is this a template problem? A permissions problem? .....? Any idea? Thanx a lot. |

Moderators should not have access to the AdminCP. Also moderators can not change user profiles (only small things like a signature). Editing user profiles is an admin task.

Well... ok.... usually it is an admin task, you're right, but we would like at our forum that moderators be able to modify user profiles.... there's no way of giving them permissions to do this? (other than make them admins....)

Nope, you will need to make them an admin. But you can limit their admin permissions to only users.

Just ad them to an admin usergroup (as seconday usergroup?) and set their admin permissions to only allow editing users.

Here's what you do...
Setup all your moderators that you would like to edit Users. (have each person setup a user then promote that user to Super Moderator) Log into the AdminCP as the forum admin, go Usergroups on the left panel and select > Administrator Permissions. Click Edit Permissions for each User you want to be able to modify users. Click the check box to YES for Can Administer Users. That's it. Just make sure your Moderators are loggin into the AdminCP and not the ModCP to change user settings. |
