check max_allowed_packet
How can one check the max_allowed_packet size without shell? Is it listed in cpanel or whm? Is there a php script that can provide that information?
We have this error: filesize = 1154220 WHERE attachmentid = 16 mysql error: Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes |

Right in your adminCP you should see server stats

Wow, that was easy. It's set to 1MB so maybe that is why there is problem. Is there a minimum requirement for vbulletin? Thanks for your help!

No, but 1MB is really low, depending on the server and some settings such as attachment file sizes you may want to set it to something like 15MB

If you store attachments in the filesystem, you should not have any issues with such a low maximum packet size.

i am uploading 100 meg attachments.
to do this, create a php.ini file in your forum root. c/p this into it.... Code:
upload_max_filesize = 110M post_max_size = 110M max_execution_time = 9960 memory_limit = 116M |

You have to use .htaccess to change php.ini configs. |
