Hey,
I have been getting a LOT of spam lately and I have tried all possible means to stop this right at user registration. We used to be on plain old captcha and from there we went onto re captcha and then to custom questions that users have to answer to verify.

At the end of the day, nothing works.

It is quite mind boggling that bots would be able to figure out answers to unique questions which leads me to the only possible reason, it is being done manually.

Now I am looking for a mod similar to what the guys at digitalpoint are using, which requires you to verify before posting a new thread. I want that as well as re capatcha before posting a new comment on a thread.

Any ideas guys?

What you could do is use the multiple member's hack and then when you ban one, any similar bots to that ip will get banned. Also combining hacks works wonders for my forums. I must run at least 5 spam bot hacks. You still get bots, but like 1-5 a month.

As for what exactly you want, I haven't seen anything and either its custom or not posted on vb.org (or at least, I have never seen it before)
