external.php - xml - lastpost - INCLUDE A POST PREVIEW

How can I alter external.php to return XML, last post in the thread but ALSO include a short preview of the post, just like the RSS2 returns?

in other words, I want to go to http://www.boatpittsburgh.com/forums...&lastpost=true

But instead of the stupid forum description, I want the description to include a post preview.

I can't seem to get this code to do ANYTHING different than what it's doing. I went through and commented out all mentions of the word "description" and still it prints out the description tag with all the information in it. How is this even logically possible, if I've commented out all the code regarding description!?

I've tried everything, the next step is going to be walking out into the street and start punching people in the face, and see if that works.

Who wants to prevent some violence in the streets of Pittsburgh today?

Please help me, I'm at the end of my rope.
