Video Sharing Scripts
Been looking at some of these video sharing YouTube clone scripts. Has anyone had any experience with either VidiScript or PHPMotion? I think I've come down to deciding between these two and I'm not sure if I can install the required server components myself.
VidiScript:

DJ,
I've done quite a bit of research on this. VidiScript is somewhat of an "offshoot" of a script named Social Media: http://www.mediascripts.com/ The marketing guy there had a falling out with the developer and started vidiscripts. Social Media is pretty robust and has vBulletin user integration but it is early days for this one feature. For installing the server-side stuff, check out the following that does an excellent job in auto installing what is needed: http://www.ffmpeg.sherin.in/ Cheers, Regs. |

You know, I almost forgot to look at Clip-Bucket. I haven't really had a chance to look them over. I like that the JW Player can be integrated though, not to mention an additional mods section I don't recall seeing on the other sites. Though, I could have just overlooked them.
I like the look of Social Media, though for the time being, I don't think I'll be going for a paid script. But, if they're similar to Vidiscript, I might have to give Vidi another look over, as I like what I see with Social Media. So, this FFMpeg installer, will it install all these additional modules I need for running a media site or is this just the FFMpeg aspect of it all? Admitedly, I'm not entirely sure what to do with the LAME tarballs once I download them. |

Both the mentioned scripts are pretty basic with limited admin control and some issues. A better free video script, in my opinion is Clip-Bucket but their latest release was unstable and theyre fixing it. Version 1.6 is fine and has alot more features and control. Its closer to being the True YouTube clone script among them all. I also have a working vBulletin add-on which utilizes FFmpeg to upload and convert videos right within your forum. Unfortunately, I am still fairly new to php and vBulletin so as of now, its just a raw page. It would be nice if someone with a bit more experience would focus on video sharing as a vB add-on. |

I'm probably not going to use vB integration at all. At least not for now. It's going to be a partner site with my existing sites, but not integrated into City of Gamers. But, yeah, I'd wouldn't mind seeing what your demo sites can do. Thanks.
