Favicon with php?

Been reading lots of tutorials on this. I've managed to generate a favicon.ico & upload into my root folder.

The problem is all of them then give a next step of adding a html line into your index.
My index is however in php, so not sure how to accomplish this?

I came across a php tut, tried it but also failed:

vBulletin already comes with a default favicon. All you need to do is replace the existing favicon with the new one. You may also have to clear your cache for it to take effect.

Ah yea thx, I replaced that & it now work atleast on frontpage/portal
How can I get it working on the forums section?

As I mentioned above, you may have to clear your cache and restart your browser for favicon changes to take effect. I have just visited your forum and I see a favicon that is different to the default vBulletin one.

I can see a non-default favicon showing on your forum. As above, you may have to clear your cache and restart your browser for favicon changes to take effect.

It can take a day or two to show too.
