I've seen forums like this one: www.preludezone.com where it shows the latest thread(s) next to a google adsense ad.

I've searched and the hacks are for 3.8 and below. Anyone can point me to a link where it's for version 3.8+?

Do a search on "latest*" or "thread*" in "all mods" "titles only" and you should see several mods for putting the latest threads on a page. You should be able to modify one to put them exactly where you want them.

(Most mods for 3.6 or 3.7 will work fine on 3.8. Just try them out on your test board.)
