Default Need to make my forum SEO

My forum apparently has been critiqued, and I need to do some work on it. But I need someone who can do it that speaks fluent english, I'm having a hell of a time communicating what I need to some people that are supposed to be SEO gurus. But it takes 10 emails each time to get a point across, I dont have time for that.

If anyone has a referral, please PM me. Thanx.

Start with search for SEO mods here itself.. there are a few around here..
vbseo sitemap generator..zoints.. seo'd URL's and quite a few.

If you want to go for more professional solution vbseo is probably your best bet.
SEO isnt short for astro-physics. Need to know basics which u can find in google and then jus implement those using existing, professional or custom mods

cheers

Don't get me wrong, there's some nice people over at vbseo, i bought the product. Problem is it's very hard to communicate with a lot of people there. I kid you not, I wrote an email about a page long describing my problem and what I would like to do, and the guy who is supposed to be a SEO expert, wrote back like I was speaking to him in Swahili. He did not have a clue what I was talking about and I had no clue what the hell he was saying.

But, I do have a guy that's from the US, speak and writes english but he won't be able to help till about 2 weeks from now. Guess that's better than nothing and at least I won't have to write a 100 emails just to get a point across.

I already have the sitemap generator installed. Let me tell you what I am experiencing. All of a sudden all of my forum threads are appearing in google listings as:

www.mysite.com/forum/

They used to appear like this:

www.mysite.com/forum/f5/how-to-do-an-oil-change/
www.mysite.com/forum/f10/20-inch-wheels/

Then, if a web surfer from google clicks on the link he will be taken Directly to that forum thread, not to the root/index of my forum, which is happening now. That's not good, then he has to search through all of my categories just to find that particular thread. On top of that, my Thread Titles should be appear in the Title portion of the google listing, instead, my thread title appears in the Meta Description area of the listing.

It doesn't make sense. I bought vbseo so that I would have optimized URL's and they would list properly in google. I did not buy vbseo so that ALL of my forum threads when they get listed in google appear as: www.mysite.com/forum/

That is generic and hardly descriptive. What makes this even more frustrating is the guys at vbseo act like they don't have a clue as to what I'm talking about. I even gave them search phrases to use and then they could see the search results themselves.

Well sorry that had a sour experience, when it comes to product i think automatically vbseo is a popular seo project. The problem you were having seem to be related to .htaccess not entirely sure but just a hunch cos the symptoms seem to point towards that.

Anyway i forgot to mention this but another option for you is to wait for VB 4.0 which apparently a comprehensive SEO built into the system, perhaps it could be something to look forward too.

Thank you taking the time to reply, at least you appear to know that something is not right, more than I can vouch for, regarding the people at vbseo. That is my opinion only, and at this juncture, wish that I hadn't spent the money to purchase their product.
