just turn it off, upload all the files, go to the upgrade link, click it, let it run... then turn your board on.

going from 3.8.2 to 3.8.3 shouldnt affect your mods or templates.

Hopefully you have a test board, do it there first, if all goes well, wait until late at night and repeat the steps on your live board.
