How do I do this in vB
Hey I want to make it so users have the ability to turn on and off the shout box to their view. I figured to make a custom profile field (drop down or check box) when yes or checked that it would show the sh outbox when no or unchecked it hides it
so how would I in vb code check that profile field and do what I want it to do.. to clarify if enabled = checked (or yes) then shout box show else if enabled - unchecked (or no) then don't show shout box end if profile Enabled Shout box? Yes | No |

To do it correctly, you really should use the yes/no in your plugins so the code doesn't get executed if the user doesn't want to see the shoutbox. But, if you just want it done quick, then you would most likely use $bbuserinfo[fieldxx] in the template. If that doesn't work, then you'll have to tell us what template you are using the profile field in. And, if you are using it in a custom template for the mod, you will have to ask in the modification thread for help regarding the name of the variable.
