What is the best way to do this?
He wants everything gone(username, pms, threads and posts). We are still running vbulletin version 3.6.10 if that matters. |

Just delete the user through the admincp, although I wouldn't. I never do, if people want to stop participating in the site then tell them to stop logging in.

What RLShare said, but you'll also need to update your counters. I would recommend against doing this though, mainly because any thread(s) they participated will potentially become jumbled and confusing without their contributions. Just ban them and be done with it, less of a headache for you.

It's your choice if you want to remove him.
It's your site, you don't have to delete his account if you don't want to, tell him to change his email and forget the pass, and he'll never have to go back to the forum. I wouldn't delete all his post, just change his pass and email so he can't get back in. |

I would only do this if the member has not posted in useful threads and has few posts. Or if the user comes up with a good reason. Often the user itself has no real clue what he wants. Often the user just wants to get his posts out of google cache or needs a username change.
The user has chosen to contribute to the threads and now has second thoughts. Often it would leave many threads wrecked. That is the users problem and other users should not suffer under that. |

Just tell him it's done.... remove his e-mail and change the name on that account to something else...

We never delete users, just move them to a special usergroup.

You could change their username so that their online persona is no longer linked to those posts. I'd ask them why they want to do it though.
