Good domain name - I widh I would have thought of it.
The header image is too big. Just the header is 163.49 KB. The entire home page, including the header, should be less then 100kb.
Edit the meta keywords, and insert keywords that are related to your site.

The top of of the site - from the header, to the "Welcome to the 1776 Patriots.", takes up the entire screen. You might want to narrow that down so people can see "something" of the forum sections.
Replace the favicon with one of your own.
Good contract of colors and nice looking theme.
