Hi guys,
I want to be able to 'order' the threads to determine the order in which members see them. My threads will be all date orientated. So for example: Sydney Film Festival - 23/03/09 Wagga Music Festival - 28/03/09 If someone replies to the Wagga thread I DON'T want it to be above the Sydney thread because the Sydney event is first. And if another event occurs on the 25th, I want the ability to put it between the 2 existing threads on the thread list so they are all in date order. Idealy I would like the forum ordering number system for threads. Has anything like this been realised or is there a way to do it? Thanks |

Just edit the settings of the forum to sort the threads by thread title. You can then put them in order by date and then alpha by festival. The titles would have to start with the date instead of the festival name though. And the dates would have to follow a pattern, so you couldn't have one named "March 03, 2009" and another "03/03/09". Once your users got used to the system though, it should run fine.

where can you change this setting? I thought it would be user thread display options but theres nothing there.

I think you would want to do the date in this order - yyyy/mm/dd . And, in order to have them in order by title, which would order them by the title date in this case, you will have to have the date first in your title, so:
2009/03/23 - Sydney Film Festival 2009/03/28 - Wagga Music Festival |
