attachments and bots - can we block bots?

One way is to set up a bot trap with a folder that is not suppose to be accessed. If it is you can be pretty sure its a bad bot.

The second thought I had was to password protect you download directory with .htaccess and use a link to it instead of attachments.

Just sucks that you have to do stuff like this now to prevent morons from abusing the site...
