Ditto to BBEdit and Transmit. Both very useful tools!
did you try Coda ?!... i hate it, too much gadgets, not enough simplicity. when you know how to code your site, you just need the editor and the ftp...
i suppose a lot of PC editors can do this, but i know nothing about PC.. lol
Many PC editors actually have the FTP client built right in so you don't even need a second application.
Though if the editor doesn't include that then most FTP programs also have a "Edit Mode" where you can just right-click the file, choose edit file off the menu and it loads automatically in your editor of choice. When you save it and switch windows, the FTP client automatically uploads it from the temp folder to your site again.
usually, we use a Code Editor, there are plenty that can debug your code and check its consistancy, but usually you have to pay a minimum to have one that works for real...
Unless you use good 'ol Notepadd++

Okay, is there a program to detect missing code? I mean I just spent three hours trying to figure out where I went wrong and finally figured out that I left out a stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid = sign. I'm officially not coder material and my brain hurts.
Isn't there a program somewhere online that can scan through code to detect missing things? Sure would make my life easier.
I'm having a Martini.
Thanks a million

Hah, any program has room for mistakes. Smallest ones always get you the most! But always worth it in the end
