3.7.4 - 3.8 ?
when it comes to upgrading, the instructions say just to upload all the files & run the upgrade script, but a few things im unsure about
1. will it overwrite my current editted templates? 2. will the 3.7 mods still work? 3. will all the files/edits ive done on 3.7.4 be regarded as GONE? |

1. no (download your style if you are skeptical, via the admincp)
2. not 100%, but most do. 3. yes (download the php files first, reapply the hacks that required file edits after you upgrade.) |

So let me get this right.......
1. I download my style then re-upload it & all editted templates will be working again? 2. is it just a case of hoping will mods will work or not? 4. is there any easy way to download the php files? |

1. not necessarily when i upgraded i had to get the updated 3.8 versions of my styles
2. basically you will need to write down all the mods you added and relook them up for 3.8 to make sure they work. 3. yeah you can go to your plugins and export/download their xmls. |

1. No. You still need to modify the templates with the required changes.
2. Most modifications that work on 3.7 will work on 3.8. However, you should always test upgrading on a test board, and make sure everything is working. 3. What kind of file edits did you do? With 3.5+, there shouldn't be much of a need for them. |
