Post threads with custom threadids
I want to post threads with a custom threadid, in addition to keeping the normal incremental number. I would want to add something like ?t=XXXXXXXX to the newthread link to set the custom threadid. Is this a possibility without extensive modification? Any help with this would be appreciated. I have the very basic understanding how this could be done, but am far from being knowledgeable in php especially when it comes to writing to the database. I've tried looking through files, but it's mostly been foreign to me. I'd like to keep this as simple as possible, I want to nothing else other than be able to assign the custom ids to threads in one forum.

You want some threads to have like a secondary threadid? There is nothing like that in default vbulletin - you'd have to code it yourself. (I've never seen a modification to do anything like that.)

Not a secondary threadid, I would want the actual threadid to be the id that I set. Though now that you mention an optional secondary id that could be custom set when posting, like an extra input field, would let me do what I'm trying to do. That's probably a better idea too, rather than messing with the actual vb system.
Now I just have to figure out how to do that |
