Need some CSS help

I may be in over my head again!

For the first picture. I'm using a background image to provide the bars on the right and left of the picture. I believe is .page. Since I have an image already I can't figure out how I would go about adding another image to the very top. I have another banner image I want at the top so the bars don't look like they stop so sudden.

Second two pictures has to do with links/fonts. Is there any CSS tricks to get the fonts to read better on the background image?

For the second problem "Is there any CSS tricks to get the fonts to read better on the background image?", find out what class those links are using (look in the page source) and then modify the class to have a solid colored background, like black. Then you won't see the other background in back of the links.
