I moved my site database and software to a new hosting account today and now I can't access my site. This site was a subdomain. Here is the steps I took to move it:
1) I backed up my site database and ftp'd my forum folder, etc to my local computer. 2) Opened the database export SQL file and did a search & replace on all occurances of my domain address. (http://www.talkvirginia.net/forum/ to http://www.talkvirginia.net/) I was attempting to move my forum to public_html folder. 3) ftp'd the database export SQL file and bigdump.php to my public_html folder, then imported the data. Everything imported fine. 4) I modified the config.php file and the vbadvanced index.php and renamed index.php to forum.php. When I run forum.php to access my site it comes up some what. I tried accessing the admincp but that won't come up either. Any ideas what I can do? Thanks much in advance, Jim |

Both those links come up for me - the exact same page though. I don't know if I'm getting the old site or the new one though. The only difference I see is that one says "Virginia's #1 online community!" next to the name. Perhaps your DNS had not propogated?

Never edit your database in a text editor you can change all those paths either via phpMyadmin (still not recommended) or change it in the AdminCP then make the move (recommended)
