Default My registered users want their own forum. Can it be done?

My PHP/mySQL Linux website has members who purchase the product and then get access via their username/password stored in our database.

Can I install this forum so that - when they purchase product - they automatically become members of the forum with the same username/password as found in our database? Also the registration function on the forum will need to be disabled so that this is the only way to become a member of the forum.

Can this be done? Relatively inexpensively? I'd like to be sure before I purchase the forum.

Thanks.

Hitting the license agreement of this software, it is not possible to sell or lease part of the forum for the usage of having their own private/public forum... your clients will have to buy their own license of the software.

what you could do is provide a paid subscription that permit your users to gain "moderator" access to a specific forum of their own...

As jstep said, this can be done if you have enough knowledge in vBulletin, and you can give it a try and if you couldn't you can ask for paid-assistance at the bottom of the main forum. There are PROs that can help you out.

That is a good idea or you could use the social forums mod (when you create a group, it can make a forum) and use that.

Many thanks for your input.

To be clear, I have an online game website and the clients are just the game users. We want a forum to discuss things.

I want to be able to automatically add a newly registered player's username/password in our database to the forum database.

And I want to be able to disable the forum registration function so that this is the only way to become a posting member in the forum.

I will take your advice and look for someone here who can help me.

Does this sound like a complicated = expensive task?

actually this is completely different from the first request...

this is not a new request, many site owners request that kind of things... if the original script is easy to understand, registration and access can be easily bridged to vBulletin... if the engine is really strange -- i say really -- you could have to pay a good amount to have a really specific bridge for that... but i could say it's close to easy on most cases... if someone charge you more than 250$ for that, i would say they want to scam you...

xialys, thanks for your input. Much appreciated. I've read your portfolio, impressive. I'll be sending a query.
