Okay, never ran into this one before. I made an edit to each instance of forum_old.gif and forum_new.gif using the replacement option in the Admin CP with forum_old.png and forum_new.png. The edits went fine, but the pages insist on trying to load the GIFs when loaded, except in the legend at the bottom of the page. I'm at a loss as to why that is and what I can do to change it. This is on a hack free install, by the way.

Exactly how did you replace this?

The find and replace option:
Styles & Templates >>> Search in Templates >>> Find and Replace in Templates (be careful!) |

I am not sure if all these icons are named in the templates. A lot might be inserted by code during page generation.
Maybe (although not the best for performence) would be the use of Replacement Variables (AdminCP -> Styles & Templates -> Replacement Variable Manager). |

I see what happened now. The images are not all named the same thing in the templates. The little legend at the bottom of the page uses the actual image names, while the code for the active forum areas uses the style variable names. Silly me didn't think of that.
