hiding non related language forum when choosing a language
I was asked to come here
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=181393 I have a forum in 3 languages, very large, it is a mess because people have to see all those $%@%@ forums which have not Idea what are they about so I was thinking it is a must one who chooses his language does not need to look at all those unrelated forums Can any body help me overcome this? |

Can you over come it by groups.
Create a usergroup for each language which shows/hides the appropriate forums and then either automatically or get each member to join the group for the language they are interested in. You could perhaps have a single "help" forum that shows for everyone and has instructions in each language of how to join their particular group. |

Why wont it? When you first join there is only 1 forum which is a url forum (not a real forum).
It has a link that goes to: http://www.website.com/profile.php?do=editusergroups Which lists all your languages: English (*) Spanish ( ) Italian ( ) They click their language and press "join". And it's done. All you need to do is create 1 URL link forum and 3 public joinable usergroups. |
