If you are going to be using full text search in vB 3.7 then you can truncate, not drop!, the search index table and just enable full text search in the 3.7 admincp after upgrading.

If you still want to use the vBulletin search, you can truncate the search index table then rebuild the search index in the 3.7 admincp.

Note: after truncating the search index table you will not be able to search at all in your forum until one of the above is completed.
