Integration with vBulletin - Zoints Thread Tags - GREAT for SEO

The Zoints Thread Tags System will improve forum side search, SEO, and traffic for forums that choose to utilize it. And in my opinion, it's just plain cool

When a member creates a new thread, they can now input a series of "tags". Tags are simply keywords that describe the thread.



If you then go to your-forum.com/tags you will be presented with what is called a "tag cloud". The more times a tag is used, the larger the text grows. As you can see, the tags are also searchable.



Clicking on one of the tags in the cloud then lists all of the threads that are tagged with that particular keyword. The default option lists tags in a forumdisplay format. There is an option in the admincp to use a simple format.



Clicking on the thread title of one of the above threads then takes you to the thread. If you have the option on, the tags the thread are tagged with are also listed above the thread. Clicking one of those tags takes you to all the threads on the forum tagged with the same tag. Search engine spiders are going to have a field day with this



The thread starter and moderation staff have a slightly different view which allows for administration of tags:



The forum's tags are also searchable via the search dropdown. The advanced search option allows for a variety of additional criteria to be seached for. Your members create a whole new (and highly efficient) forum search engine!



If you have the option on in the admincp and register your forum, once every hour, your tagged threads in publically viewable forums are linked via the corresponding interest tag on the Zoints Forum Network. For example, if you go to http://zoints.com/tag/children you will see what is pictured below. Not only is this a great relevant inbound link for SEO, but you will get traffic from Zoints direct to these threads!

Sadly, I can't be of much help. My help would likely be more of a hindrance than anything as I do not possess the knowledge needed to help you. I know I have seen Thread Tags in Arabic (I believe) on a couple of forums in the past, but I am not aware of the special measures they took to install it.

I wish I could be of more help.

If so, any suggestions on how to achieve this. Ideally I'd like the module to be integrated on all pages.

Yes it will be. I don't know when, but some progress has been made on it and the engineers will complete that next as it is the next item on the agenda.

Thanks for letting me know. I just informed the engineers so hopefully they can find a quick solution (I know the updates have been slow, but we have tried to put out fixes for problems as quick as we could.) I'll let you all know once I hear from them, I am frankly not aware of how complicated a fix like this would or wouldn't be.

For this version, there really aren't any. The beta version which has floated around for some time does have it though so it will make the next release.

Alright, I just heard back from the engineers. Our engineer Danny will be working on this tonight, so hopefully he will have a new version that works with the latest 3.70 in the next day or two!

I have two problems, first in my navbar, the tag buttom is show badly, how to say, like no other button on the templeto so it looks ugly.. its a bigger sqare than the others.

Second when you click a tag in the popular tag or any tag, it dont shows you any thread.. it goes to other page , and shows you the search tag box...

Version 1.2.3 has been uploaded. Adding new tags should now work with the CSRF protocol. Please post if you have any issues.

Also...some reported problems with the AJAX addition/deletion of tags on showthread form for vB 3.7...this was working fine for me with 3.7 Gold. If you are still having issues with vB 3.7 gold, please let us know.
