WordPress set-up

Hello,

I have a few questions:

I want to create some pages, that go to another url, such as my forums. However, it doesn't give me the option to input the url -- yet I've seen it done...any ideas how to do this? Take a look at my blog: Tech Support Team You see where it says home? Well, I want to put a forums tab ect.. there and it redirects them to the forums.

I want to add my favicon to the blog, so I added this to the top of the header file and still it doesn't show:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" />

Finally, I've put my Wordpress in a separate database -- is that ok, or is it best having it in the same as my forums? Just trying to keep the database as small as possible as I can hehe.
