How to edit the display of incoming RSS XML
I am fairly new to RSS Feeds and have been researching how to edit an external RSS Feed display.
I have an RSS feed from another site but they limit the number of characters for the description and the title. I want to increase the number of characters of the description and the title in my forum so that the topic title is more description and more than 2 lines of text appear before having to click the more link to read the full item on another site. Is this even possible? If so, how do I do it? Also, how do I change the vb RSS characters and title? Thanks in advance. |

Afraid not, the number of characters is determined by their feed settings, not yours. They do this to force you to visit their site in order to read the rest of the content.
For your second question, just type in what you want in addition to or instead of the {rss:fieldname} areas. You can even use BBCode in the Body Template the same way you would use it in a post. For instance, this is the default link code they give you and what it turns into when posted: [url="http://{rss:link}"]More...[/url] More...But I changed mine to look like this: [size=1]Source: [url="http://{rss:link}"]{rss:link}[/url][/size] Source: http://www.feedsite.com/articleidXXXX |
