Default Upgraded from 3.0 to 3.6 - Template crashes IE

I recently made an upgrade from 3.0 to 3.6.x and the upgrade went successful.

The old vbulletin style I actually had done for me its still enabled on the server and when I change templates it works fine in firefox but IE forumdisplay crashes on the old one. I had to recreate default template to get a working site for my IE users.

Does anyone have an idea why this would cause such a crash or is there is an easy way to copy the old style information over to the new.

any advice would be a plus, I appreciate it. I do have web design skills but for some reason this is a little harder than I thought.

That's kind of like asking "anybody know why my car isn't working?".

We'll need more info. Or a URL to the site, with style chooser enabled and the name of the style causing problems. I'm assuming you mean "style" rather than "template".

There are many templates changes required for things to work properly when upgrading from 3.0 to 3.6 (or even 3.5, for that matter). There were a lot of fundamental changes. The crashes were probably a result of the new JavaScript framework being used, IE doesn't particularly play nice with JS errors.

My advice would be to use the vBulletin default style and make your customisations to that. You're most likely to miss things and mess more things up by trying to make the changes to a style designed for 3.0.

Sorry for getting back so late on this I been very busy with work. However the old customization was done by someone I no longer have contacts with which leaves me in a bind because I have no idea what he did and what he edited. do you know a source page where I can see how to implement these changes? I did everything already but just trying to setup spaces in between the forums and place borders around each forum topic ect ect. The only way I can really show you is to check the forum and use the NAT style and see what im trying to do.
