You should understand the responses by some members:

If your friend wanted you to have Admin control over the board, he should have given you access to the ACP. But it seems he only gave you control over FTP.

Yes there are ways to gain admin access, but nobody on this forum can tell if that is the intention of the board owner (ie. your friend).

You just can not simply accept it because someone (you now) on the internet claims this is what his friend intends. Not saying you are doing anything wrong, but we just can not be sure.
