Problem logging in to the adminCP

okay, I have a problem! My forums has been offline for a while, and now when I wanted to login, I can't remember my admin password or username. Help! How can I get into my adminCP?

I have tried to reset the password, but my forums is offline so it doesn't work!

You can get your username by going into your database via cpanel but your password will be encrypted. You can always find an encryted password in MD5 (if thats what Vb uses) format then change it to that, login and change it to a password that you will remember.

P.S. It is never recommended to edit the database directly, you could risk further damage especially if you have no experience with doing such things.

If you have lost your access information for your Admin account and can not reset the password using normal procedures, then please do the following:
- Register a new regular forum account.
- Upload tools.php from the 'do_not_upload' folder of your vBulletin distribution to your admincp directory.
- Now point your browser to tools.php.
- Choose "[Reset Admin Access]" to promote the new user account to admin
- Once your problem is fixed please remove tools.php again from the server.
- Optional: If needed add the userid of the new user to the super administrator list in your config.php

Manually editing the database is not the best way to go and may lead to unexpected problems.

I tried it and it works, but then I can only get into the forum. It shows I am an administrator but when I try to log into the admin cp, then I get an error telling me that my account has been locked for 15 minutes. I've been trying every 20minutes for the last hour and a half, but i still can't get in!

I've registered 3 different accounts and tried to login from a different pc, but it still doesn't work!

HELP!!!
