Password protect the admin directory?
I am wondering if it would be a good idea to password protect the admin directory in VB? Sounds like a good idea to me... another level of protection. I am also wondering what other directories would be good to password protect? I know a little about .htaaccess stuff, but I am wondering if password protecting certain directories would cause adverse permission issues. To my understanding the .htaaccess prevents browsers from accessing the data in teh directories, but will it prevent the VB software from accessing the modules and such? What about 644'ing all the directories not directly related to the normal php pages/functions?
I just don't like the idea of people poking around places and finding security holes or private information. |
