Goldbrick Media system for vBulletin 3.6.x

Thanks to all who nominated or voted this for MOTM.

Some of you might be looking for Anymedia. Well this has replaced it. It's a total rewrite from the ground up. A huge thanks goes to Sir Adrian for creating the framework. He can't cook soup but he sure can code.

Why the name goldbrck?

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
Goldbricking, in today's terms, generally refers to staff who use their work internet access for personal reasons while maintaining the appearance of working.
From Urban Dictionary:
Quote:
Goldbricking: To loaf or goof around on the job. Supposedly an old union term describing laborers (or more specifically, bricklayers) who were going so slow, it was as if each brick were made of solid gold. One can alse be referred to as a "goldbricker".

Dude, I spent all day at work goldbricking - surfing the web, making long distance phone calls - basically just picking my ass.
Goldbrick uses the following third party Products:

What's new in Goldbrick?

EDIT: The issue was the version of PHP. I upgraded the server from PHP4 to PHP5 and it now works great! Thank you for this wonderful MOD.

Ron

Is there a known issue between this MOD and Inferno vBShout 1.0.1 lite? I get error messages in the vBShout area when this MOD is installed.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/gamecock/public_html/thegarnetspurpro.com/forum/goldbrick/plugins/bbcode_create.php on line 53

Thanks,
Ron

Hi,

I have installed it, it is showing the video sites like youtube etc. but its not showing my own clips( wmv, rm) . I have already tried everything but cant get it work for my own files (wmv, RM ).

from the readme:

All Other Media - None Video sites (flv, avi, mp3, jpg etc)

Create a new thread or reply.
Post the link to the media.
Custom example: http://www.somesite.com/mymovie.avi
Post the thread or reply. Goldbrick will auto convert the url into an embed.

how come? can someone please advice me?

thanks

The old verson of anymedia doesn't need the M button either.

Try this for the shoutbox.

Hi,

I just deleted all my anymedia files and template edits (from the previous version of anymedia). After that I made a fresh install of goldbrick 1.5 (I am running vb 3.6.8 patch level 2).

The video sites like youtube etc. are working fine but when I try to play my own .wmv files the player doesn't show up (see attachment please). I know its supporting wmv files.

please see the attachment. What should I do?

Nix,
First off, I am enjoying this Mod. Wonderful. Are you still adding sites? I have one I need added to be able to embed. www.rcuvideos.com. Uses SWF files, but I am having a heck of a time creating an RCUV.php file for it.
