<font color="darkgreen">Its been a while since I had compared the Core 2 Duo to the Core 2 Extreme but if I remember correctly it has more L2 cache and a faster bus. Plus its 64 bit but when I got the CPU it was new and only out for a month or two.
TomsHardware.com had rated its performance better then some of the quad cores as they ran at slower speeds and less cache.</font> |

The Core 2 Extreme has an unlocked multiplier, which is useless unless you're an overclocker. So if you don't overclock, don't buy one unless you have a lot of cash to throw around.
