Authentication and Download Protection Question
Hi,
I am running vb 3.6.7PL1 and have some files in a directory on the apache www server that I dont want people to download unless they are logged in to vbulletin. The problem is that if someone knows the url then they can download the file without logging into vbulletin. I know you can protect dirs in the apache.conf file and make them authenticate against a mysql database. How do I write the conditions to authenticate the user against the apache.conf file for that directory using their vbulletin username and encrypted password? I have looked all over this site and havent found anything to answer my particular question. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Peter |

You'll need to setup a PHP script that accesses the database and also provides that prompt (headers).
